Project Details

Our project deals with an e-newspaper in English. Pupils can write about everything, but in a peculiar way – by interviewing school friends from different foreign countries. They can ask about school life, system of grading at school, hobbies, music, problems of young people, favourite books, favourite sports, festive traditions, how they spend their free time and other things they want to find out.
Subjects: Foreign Languages, Informatics / ICT, Language and Literature, Media Education
Languages: English - polski
Pupil's age: 13 - 15
Tools to be used: e-mail, Forum, Other software (PowerPoint, video, pictures and drawings), Web publishing
Aims: - to prepare an e-newspaper in foreign language, - to get to know new friends from other countries and their life, - to learn to create the newspaper in the Internet, - to learn to interview with friends from other countries, - to learn to work on computer and Internet.
Work process: Students can communicate only via e-mails. 1. Who are you - first e-mail to meet new friends (photos, first information about themselves in English). 2. What are you interested in – messages exchange. 3. Choose your interviewed person. 4. Ask him about... – send questions to the chosen topic. Answer questions from your friend. 5. Write text to e-magazine and correct mistakes. 6. Prepare text to insert in e-magazine. 7. Repeat points 1 to 6 how many times you want. Topics to chosen: - Hobby - Free time - Favourite music - Favourite books - Favourite sports - Favourite dishes - Festive traditions, - Problems of young people, - Other topics
Expected results: - improvement of communication in a foreign language, - get to know new friends from different countries, - get to know interesting possibilities of spending the free time, - get to know better work on the computer, - get to know better communicate via Internet and work in Internet.
